This is a fine original U.K. pressing copy of the debut LP by British group Splodgenessabounds, released in 1981. Though part of the street punk/Oi! scene, the group produced songs that were heavy on comedy with a lot of bodily functions referenced. Think of singer/chief songwriter Max Splodge as the Benny Hill of punk. The group's two hit singles, "Simon Templer" and "Two Little Boys" (a cover of a Rolf "Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport" Harris song), are here, but unfortunately the epochal b-side of the former, "Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps Please," is represented by a "dub" version (because why the heck not, presumably). The jacket has some mostly light creasing in the corners and along the spine and seams, and light spine and seam wear (EX). Visually, the disc is clean with a few small pocks in the vinyl and a little light scuffing. The pocks have little to no effect on play, and overall the disc plays with minimal surface noise (M-). The record comes with two copies of the insert (both M-) and the original label inner sleeve.
I
am in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two
decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate
from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have
play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
