Notes First pressing. August 6, 1965. Black label with yellow logo and silver print. “The Gramophone Co. Ltd.” printed at the start perimeter print and “Sold in U.K. subject…” text. Capitol print. Tracing-paper-lined “Use Emitex” die-cut inner sleeve. With or without KT tax code on the label.
Variation A. The original 1st labels used a Sans-Serif font and the * credit indicator for “I Need You” was placed to the right of the song title with a space between: I Need You *.
Variant B . Other of the original labels used a thick font and the same * credit indicator for “I Need You” was placed to the right of the song title with a space between: I Need You *. In addition, the laqueur numbers (XEX.549 & XEX.550) shifted relative to date on the both sides.
Variation C. Side 1 is practically the same as in variation 1A but the titles of “Girl” on track 5 and 6 are now aligned directly above each other. Side 2 has a few more differences in the tracklist layout. Most noticeably, the second line now begins with BIEM instead of NCB; and “Yesterday” now no longer begins on its own line. The layout in general is neater with the space being used a little more efficiently.
Only the A Side of this album is from the film soundtrack. Barcode and Other Identifiers Matrix / Runout (Side 1, stamped): XEX 549-2 Matrix / Runout (Side 2, stamped): XEX 550-2 Matrix / Runout (Label side A): XEX.549 Matrix / Runout (Label side A): XEX.550
CONDITION
The Vinyl grades as NEAR MINT !!!
VISUALLY UNDER A STRONG LIGHT ONLY TWO hairlines and sleeve removal marks one each side. The hairline on side 2 is across last 3 tracks and is visible but does not effect STUNNING playback at all, otherwise, superb glossy rainbow mirror finish obviously only been played very few times in 53 years, superb !!!!
STUNNING FOR 53 YEARS OLD, SO HARD TO FIND LIKE THIS !!!
The Audio Quality NEAR MINT
I have played this through track for track at very loud volume on a top REGA system, the audio is awesome!
Crystal clear and vibrant through out, with (no) distortion or any signs of groove ware at all!!!!
Certainly (no) clicks pops or jumps!! As good as it gets in my opinion!!
THIS AUDIO IS RATED AT THE VERY TOP ON ALL FREQUENCIES!
GRADED AS NEAR MINT!!
UNBELIEVABLE FOR A VINYL THAT IS OVER 50 YEARS OLD!!!!!
IN MY OPINION THESE ORIGINAL 1ST PRESSINGS PRODUCE THE BEST AUDIO QUALITY & CANNOT BE SURPASSED BY LATER PRESSINGS !!!
LABELS N-MINT
Only a few feint spindle lines visible again only in strong light and confirming the very few plays in 53 years !!!!! AMAZING
SLEEVE GRADES AS Excellent
LOVELY RARE CLEAN GARROD AND LOFTHOUSE PATENTS PENDING MONO SLEEVE IN SUPER CONDITION OVERALL,Apart from the white finish has aged slightly to more of a creme colour,(see pics) but apart from this a very clean solid sleeve AMAZING AFTER 53 YEARS !!!!
