THIS IS A RARE VERSION OF THE BEATLES' CLASSIC 1965 ALBUM RUBBER SOUL WHICH IS NEITHER A FIRST NOR SECOND PRESSING, BUT EFFECTIVELY SOMETHING INBETWEEN.
THE INFAMOUS "LOUD CUT" VERSION WHICH WAS RELEASED AS THE FIRST PRESSING WAS WITHDRAWN, AND AN OFFICIAL SECOND PRESSNG QUICKLY FOLLOWED. BUT DURING THE TRANSITION BETWEEN VERSIONS, A FEW COPIES WERE PRESSED WITH THE ORIGINAL MIX ON ONE SIDE, AND THE REMIX ON THE OTHER. THIS IS SUCH A VERSION - QUITE RARE, WITH THE REMIX VERSION (MATRIX NUMBER -4) AS SIDE ONE AND THE ORIGINAL "LOUD CUT" MIX (MATRIX NUMBER -1) ON SIDE TWO - HENCE THE MATRIX NUMBERS NOT MATCHING.
AND IN CASE YOU'RE WONDERING - THERE WAS VERY LITTLE DIFFERENCE  BETWEEN THE TWO MIXES, IN FACT BACK IN 1965 NO-ONE REALLY NOTICED!

Labels: Very Good + or better !!!

The  labels are bright, but with some wear  !!!!!!

Visual: Very Good + or better !!!

There  are wispy hairlines and light scuffs on both sides but the disc retains  its deep glossy, black vinyl sheen.

Play:Very Good + or better !!!

It play with NO pops,with NO clicks ,  NO jumps, some crackle  and  some slight background sound on the run on grooves, gaps.

Please Note: A clean on a Proper Cleaning machine, would help a Great Deal to IMPROVE ON SOUND QUALITY, SO THIS RECORD CAN ONLY GET BETTER!!!!

Cover

 Very Good + !!!

The  front laminated glossy front/matte back, ERNEST J DAY photo cover, is intact, but

Has some light marks from aging and usage, with laminate creasing and storage wear to the edges and corners !!!!

The  spine edge titling is clearly legible along the full length.
 

Inner-sleeve

Excellent !!!

The  inner is showing discoloring due to age. There is some scuffing along the loading edge.

 

All LPs are graded visually and conservatively under many bright lights. Questionable marks are play graded.

 

 

 

GRADING:

 

 

Factory Sealed/ Brand New: Never opened with original shrink wrap on it!!!

 

Mint:  New condition...Look like new, no flaws whatsoever. Cover will look like it has just has been removed from shrink wrap.

 

Near Mint: Played One or Two times, no flaws, but a remote ever-so-slight amount of that shiny luster may be gone.  Jacket will be virtually flawless, slightest signs of wear, maybe one bumped corner, or a hint of edge wear.  

EXCELLENT

This Item  may have some marks like -light scratch or light sleeve scuffing, that may sound briefly in a quieter passage.   The jacket may have the very lightest signs of ring wear ,

some light corner or edge wear.

 

VG+: Very Good Plus. This record will have some light marks(light scratches and light sleeve scuffs), and it might make an occasional pop or crackle in parts, but will not even come close to overwhelming the listening experience.  Still a very desirable grade... As for the jacket, it will start to show more signs of wear than a VG++ jacket, the ring wear may be slightly more evident, the edge wear or corner wear may be more defined as well.

 

VG: Very Good. The record may have several scratches and scuffs, though aside from some popping and crackling, will still be an enjoyable listen. No skips here. The jacket will have far more wear than the previous grades, such as:  edge wear to the point of some minor seam splitting (the kind that can be repaired with tape or other means), ring wear (not terrible, but still distracting from the image), edge and corner wear, minor writing or a few stickers, or other similar defects.

 

VG- : Not terrible, usually represents 1 or 2 "ugly" marks or scratches, might be a little sketchy in a few spots, other than that would fair as a VG record.  The jacket will show wear - ring wear, seam splits (still should be able to be taped up for repair), some writing and/or stickers, edge and corner wear, or other similar defects.
