John Coltrane Ballads Last Uk All Analogue issue from the 20th anniversary of the US impulse, on Jasmine from 1983. Near Mint all round, a low plays lp that I bought new, and have replaced with an original US mono for many times the price you are getting this lovely sounding issue for. Most of the original master tapes of the Coltrane catalogue were lost to a fire (look it up), and the year this was issued was when Cd's were launched on to the mainstream of high street record shops as a competing format, intended to replace vinyl. As a result, lots of these older master tapes were transferred to a digital master to archive, as it took up so much less space. The majority of albums outside of a high end audiophile market are mastered from a digital source, and as I mentioned, no alternative exists for most Coltrane Impulse reissues anyway these days. Which is a long way of saying this sounds far nicer and warmer in a true sounding way than most reissues on the market.
