NEW Otis Spann – Portraits In Blues, Volume 3 (180g Vinyl LP, 2009)
Otis Spann is considered by many to be the leading post-war Chicago blues pianist. Often a member of the Muddy Water's Blues Band and the Johnny Shines Blues Band, Otis also played with the legendary Fleetwood Mac on the album Blues Jam In Chicago. In October 1963, Otis Spann toured Europe as part of that year's much fabled American Folk Blues Festival and recorded some superb solo, contemplative blues in a broken, husky voice in Copenhagen. Personnel: Otis Spann - piano & vocals, Lonnie Johnson - guitar, Little Willie Smith - drums.
Tracks: Good Morning, Mr. Blues, Love, Love, Love, Riverside Blues, Must Have Been The Devil, Jelly Roll Baker, Trouble In Mind Side, Worried Life Blues, T. B. Blues, Spann's Boogie, Don't You Know, Goin' Down Slow.
