This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the sixth LP by Phil Ochs, released in 1969. This LP displays the psychological scars that the violence surrounding the Democratic Convention in Chicago the previous year left on Ochs: both the front cover art and one of the song's titles, "William Butler Yeats Visits Lincoln Park and Escapes Unscathed," obliquely reference it, and other song titles suggest a growing sense of desperation ("The Scorpion Departs but Never Returns," "The World Began in Eden but Ended in Los Angeles"). In terms of sound, the songs alternate between energetic pop-rock (the sarcastic "Pretty Smart on My Part" and "I Kill Therefore I Am") and sparse, melancholy ballads (notably the title track, which closes the album). The jacket has light ring, corner, and seam wear, and the initials of a previous owner written in pen on the back cover -- EX(+). The disc is clean with a few small dings on side 1, and plays with occasional light surface
noise (EX+). The record comes with the original label inner sleeve.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
If you'd like to order multiple items, I'll happily combine them so that you won't have to pay multiple shipping charges.
