Art & Soul!
Blue eyed MC Matt Lucas was desperate to show he could handle recording a Soul record and was sent around Detroit to "pick up the vibe" by producer Ollie McLaughlin.
By the time he settled into United Sounds Studios a few weeks later to record the simply great "You Better Go Go" he had certainly learnt all about the Motor City sound.
Music is from The Funk Brothers, the song by the legendary Richard "Popcorn" Wylie and the exquisite femme backing vocals come from The Charmaines.
As Matt says "Wind It Up Baby"....simply one of the most infectious dance records to be made in the magical place that was Detroit back then.
