KISS - Crazy Nights (180g Remastered Vinyl LP, 2014) **NEW**
Review from another site: I'm a long time KISS fan dating back to the mid 1970s when KISS ruled the world. It seems rare to find an "old school" fan who appreciates and enjoys any of the 1980s unmasked/non-makeup KISS albums. However, this album Crazy Nights is a guilty pleasure of mine and I actually love this album. The year was 1987 and it appeared that KISS was trying to go in the direction of Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, White Snake and a few other bands that were on fire at the time. Again, the sonics are obvious when you hear this album. However, to me, its very good. Ron Nevison was the producer and his production is evident upon first listen. Not a bad thing. Nevison had some recent success with bands such as Heart and Ozzy Osbourne. I appreciate Crazy Nights as a "feel good" record. It's not as dark or metal coated like some of the previous albums, such as Lick It Up and Animalyze. While I love those albums too, Crazy Nights was more of a sound of the times. Paul Stanley vocals are incredible on this album as well as Bruce Kulick's guitar work. Gene's "Good Girl Gone Bad" rocks as well. I love the record. I think that the guys did an awesome job with this one.
