Electronic music pioneer Gil Melle composed The Andromeda Strain in 1971. The film soundtrack was recorded entirely with synthesizers, which was unheard of at the time. This disc is on Kapp Records.In addition to writing music for films, Gil Melle composed several symphonies, which he performed with symphony orchestras in Toronto, London, and New Zealand.
