 RELEASED 21ST JULY 1971

Third  album, released on July 21, 1971. Reached #8 on the U.S. album chart, immediately going gold. It was Black Sabbath’s first album to debut in the Top 10.

Some early German, US and Canadian pressings had the title incorrectly printed on the record labels as 'Masters Of Reality'.

Also their first album to feature the heavier new sound created by dropping the tuning three semi-tones below the standard E, thus creating the premise for what would become known as the stoner rock sound.

Vertigo ''swirl'' label with inverted colours. The B-side label is black.
The title is wrongly printed as ''Masters Of Reality'' and track A3 is not listed.
Later versions like  do mention this track.

Letters on some covers may appear more blue than purple due to manufacturing differences.

[Inner sleeve]
The inner sleeve is black and features the cat# in the top right corner.

CONDITION

The Vinyl

VG++ TO EXCELLENT 

On initial visual inspection the playing surface looks SUPERB, LOVELY, GLOSSY AND MIRROR LIKE SHINE I can only see A COUPLE OF FEINT HAIRLINES ON BOTH SIDES UNDER A STRONG LIGHT !!!

 HAIRLINE MARKS HAD ABSOLUTELY ZERO EFFECT DURING MY TEST PLAY, A LITTLE BACKGROUND CRACKLE IS EVIDENT ON RUN IN AND BETWEEN TRACKS, BUT IS LOST DURING PLAYBACK,OVERALL A NICE AUDIO EXPERIENCE !!!

Any marks that could possibly be seen under a stronger light would be caused by the vinyl been slid in and out of its sleeve!

 Importantly There is definitely NO needle scratches or audio sounding marks that I heard at all  !!!!!

A NICE CONDITION VINYL AND 50 YEARS OLD !!! AMAZING 

The Labels:  NEAR MINT

These are super ! Bright and clean ONLY FEINT SPINDLE LINES can be seen on each side, angled in strong light but concentrated around the centre hole only.

Confirming this has definitely been played SPARINGLY since 1971 

Please note! i am highly critical about the audio quality on my records as it is my prime interest above rarity

The Outer Sleeve  VERY GOOD

The embossed outer Printed cover , is in acceptable condition!!

Edge rub and Wear definitely evident on corners especially spine side,

with some creasing also (see pics) 

Far from perfect but overall acceptable appearance front and rear !!

NO RIPS, SPLITS OR NASTY NAMES WRITTEN ON ETC 

 RICH IN COLOUR  FULLY LEGIBLE spine

The original Black Numbered Inner Sleeve    Excellent

This is the original correct black numbered 6360 050 paper inner sleeve.

 NO splits or tears, just very light minimal creases, lovely !!!
