On offer is a British first pressing of The Who's 1970 greatest hits LP Meaty, Beaty, Big & Bouncy on the Track label 2406 006. The serial numbers in the dead wax end in A1 and B1, making this a first pressing. The tracks were mastered by the celebrated record engineer George Peckham who has left his nicknames Porky and Pecko in the run-out grooves. The record comes in a gatefold cover. Three of the tracks are in the original mono version.
The record plays great, sounds great -- full and bright. In sunlight you can see many hairline marks on the vinyl but there are no actual scratches. I can't say there is no surface noise, but most tracks have none. The playback is very strong. The record grades between Excellent and Very Good.
The cover is crisp -- no writing or splits or tears or creasing. A little bit of wear to edges and corners. Grades about Excellent.
