A little starter collection of Beatles records from America. They’re not in collectors condition but most of them are certainly decent listening examples. I would like to say one thing regarding playback of mono records on stereo machines also. Since stereo is two channel and mono is one, stereo needles will play the music just fine in mono, but dust and imperfections on the records will essentially be doubled as they’re being played through two channels. So, mono records in general are going to be noisier when played on stereo machines. Even my most pristine examples play back with some noise. Now, with that out of the way, Here’s a description of each album:
Meet the Beatles: Ringwear on the cover and back. Some seam splits too. The record is a bit noisy but an overall good listening experience. First pressing. Mono.
Something New: Ring wear and some splitting but an overall decent cover. There are sadly some skips on the album. There are two at the top of I’ll Cry Instead that push you through the intro and right into the first verse. There’s also skip on the following track Things We Said Today. There’s also a bit of distortion and static but the record is visually dirty. A good cleaning should remove some of the static. Clears up a bit towards the center of side 1 and is much better on side 2. First pressing. Mono.
Beatles 65: No skips at all. There is some static but an overall pleasant listening experience. Side 2 actually has very minimal noise. First pressing. Mono.
The Early Beatles: The cover is very nice. The back has a very large stain, possibly from some kind of water damage but I’m not sure. This doesn’t affect the record at all. As for the album itself, it is nearly flawless. Looks like it’s been played twice. Next to no noise and excellent sound quality. An ideal listening experience. 1965 pressing. This album is in stereo.
Beatles VI: A fair bit of static and groove distortion on this one but luckily no skips. This is certainly an album that was played very heavily. It’s listenable, but certainly not ideal. This another that is visually dusty so maybe a deep cleaning will remove some of the noise. First pressing. Mono.
Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band: No inserts but the sleeve is in excellent condition. Minimal signs of wear and no splits or anything, the top corner has a slight crease in it. Record is also in excellent condition. Plays great. This is an early 80s pressing and is on the Capitol Rainbow label. Stereo.
Magical Mystery Tour: Some foxing on the cover, definite signs of wear. A bit of splitting as well. As with many other copies of this album, the book is beginning to fall out. It’s still attached and will remain if stored on its spine, rather than its bottom. I’ve placed it in the plastic sleeve as I’ve stored it. The record itself sounds pretty good. A bit of noise but overall a good listening experience. Stereo.
That’s everything really. If you want more photos please ask! Each album comes in a protective plastic sleeve. The record is stored behind the sleeve in a mofi protective sleeve. Thanks for looking!
