Troy Newman was an Australian singer-songwriter and musician who was a member of Perth pop, rock band Boys from 1987 to 1988 and

also had a solo career, releasing two albums, Gypsy Moon (1991) and It's Like This (1995) before he died in March 1997.

Many people will remember Troy for "Love Gets Rough" which reached No. 22 on the Australian Singles charts and charted at No. 92 on

the US Billboard Top 100.

In 1992 Troy was offered a second record deal with his label but turned it down not wanting to return to Australia to record it,

feeling more creatively comfortable and inspired in LA. This decision ultimately led to his label dumping him & a change of artist management.

The battle would rage on into early 1994...

Troy began writing & working on demos at his own cost until his future was again secure with Ladanyi Entertainment.

9000 miles from Perth, living in a walk-up behind the Chinese Mann’s in downtown Los Angeles barely surviving financially he forged on.

These were mean and hungry times; Troy had previously lost his only brother and best friend in 1989 but had endure losing his father &

grandparents during this period of his life.

Pouring out his heartbreak well into 1993 of life in LA with little money, very few friends, a fading love interest and life as only he observed it.

What evolved was a total of 14 tracks, 10 of which are on this album after many sessions with friend, producer & session guitarist Craig T Fall.
