What a great band The Birthday Party was, and this is proof. Nick Cave started his musical career with The Boys Next Door (seek out their version of "These Boots Were Made For Walking" on YouTube), which morphed into The Birthday Party after which he went solo but took many players from this band with him and declared them The Bad Seeds. This is one of The BP's best albums with the tracks "She's Hit", "Dead Joe" (incredibly awesome), "The Dim Locator", "Hamlet (POW POW POW)", and "Several Sins" on Side One, with the excellent "Big-Jesus-Trash-Can" opening Side Two, followed by "Kiss Me Black", "6" Gold Blade", "Kewpie Doll", and the title track "Junkyard" closing this loud, obnoxious, exhilarating album out. And, this is a 1st UK PRESS on 4AD records. The vinyl is clean and shiny with good color and a few very light sleeve marks, NO obnoxious scratches, this still sounds great with just a bit of used vinyl background noise, the labels in super shape. The cover has some issues obviously from this album trying to bust out lol. Some minor ring wear, some rough corners, some almost splitting top and bottom mid edge, and a barely legible spine, as well as the cover photo coming a bit unglued. SEE ALL PHOTOS before purchasing please. Average VG+ vinyl with a lower VG cover, but still solid. The picture / lyric sleeve inside is still in VG+ shape with small splitting from the weight of the LP MID edges. If you haven't heard this LP, be brave and pick up a copy. It. Is. Awesome.
