The Beatles Yesterday and Today vinyl Butcher Cover (Blue Colored Vinyl).

(This is a limited edition - re-issue of original 1966 release)

Album has never been opened and is sealed (un-played). Colored of Vinyl is Blue.

Great album for your Beatles collection as this is a limited edition and still unopened.

BONUS:

Included are two “copies” (not originals) of the letter Capitol Records Distributing Corp. issued on June 14, 1966 and sent out to suppliers and retail businesses asking for the original 1966 album to be returned because of the controversial “butcher” album cover.  One letter copy is black and white print which is what this letter looked like in 1966.  The second copy is in color.  The Capitol logo is in red font and the Capitol business heading is in blue font.  This colored copy will make a better display if you choose to place it in a frame for display.

At that time, those Butcher Cover albums that were returned were either destroyed or had the butcher cover photo covered over with a glued Yesterday & Today trunk case cover.  These original covers, being very rare and collectable, are being sold for many thousands of dollars according to their "state".

The most expensive one is the original butcher block covers that were not returned to Capitol records and are known as "First State" copies.  These copies are the most valuable and this re-issue is what the album originally looked like.

The next original copy is called "Second State" and those were the albums that had the new label (trunk case photo) pasted over the butcher cover and redistributed for re-sale.  They are identifiable because parts of the butcher cover photo appear through the pasted trunk cover.

The last original copy is known as the "Third State" copy.  People realized in the sixties that they could steam the peeled trunk case cover off the album.  There are good and bad versions of this Third State album as some people were good at removing the glued replacement cover and others not so, and severely damaged the album jacket.

The Yesterday & Today Beatles album was then re-issued with only the trunk cover version which are readily available in various printing dates for a reasonable price depending on condition.

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT AN ORIGINAL FROM 1966.  IT IS A LIMITED-EDITION RE-ISSUE.

Album will be placed in a protective clear vinyl record protector and mailed with cardboard protection squares inside the record package box for safe handling of album/vinyl.
