DIRE STRAITS, MAKING MOVIES, 1980 UK VERTIGO LP, CLASSIC ROCK, EXCELLENT VINYL Dire Straits – Making Movies (12” LP)

Dire Straits were a British rock band that formed in Deptford, London, in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), his younger brother David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). Dire Straits' sound drew from a variety of musical influences, including jazz, folk, and blues, and came closest to beat music within the context of rock and roll.

Side Two: Expresso Love; Hand In Hand; Solid Rock; Les Boys.
The album is on Vertigo Records, 6359 034. Matrix side one: 6359034 1Y//1 ▽ E 420 (stamped) RC (written). Matrix side two: 6359034 2Y//2 ▽ E 420  (stamped).
Released in 1980. UK pressing. Stereo.

Condition: (as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1: excellent (has the odd very light superficial mark that does not affect the audio in any way, plays excellent with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2: excellent (has the odd light mark and plays with two or three light clicks near the start of the side but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, that apart plays excellent with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (glossy): very good (corner, edge and spine wear, a few crease mainly around the edges).
Comes with the original inner sleeve in excellent condition.
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy with the record.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
