London Calling by The Clash.  Named "best album of the 1980s" by Rolling Stone (although it was actually issued in December 1979 in the UK - the Americans didn't get it until the following month) this is an original copy from the first print run. Original-issue white centre labels (not the red ones from later issues on CBS) and printed lyric inners housed in a single album sleeve. Matrix numbers (for those who like to know these things) are as follows;
Side 1: CLASH - 3 -A4 Side 2: CBS - S - CLASH 3 B-3 CL.1-2.B-3 Side 3: CBS - S - CLASH 3 C-2 CL.3-4.A-2 Side 4: CBS - S - CLASH - D3   CL-3-4-B3
Final track Train in Vain is, as per all early copies, unlisted on the sleeve and labels, but is indicated by "Track 5 is Train in Vain" etched in the run-out groove on side 4.
Disc condition: VG+/EX- Both discs are in excellent condition, with no dings, dents, finger marks or skips.  There are a small number of hairlines that do not affect playback and really can only be seen under very bright direct light.  Otherwise, all sides have a lovely sheen to them. All tracks play back without skipping.  As one would expect from a record of this age, there is a little crackling on the quiet parts between tracks, but aside from a couple of pops at the start of side 3, cannot be heard over the music.  Fidelity-wise, the sound is a clear as a bell.  Paul Simonon's bass on The Guns of Brixton sounds fantastic.
Sleeve condition: VG Unlike many copies of a similar vintage, the sleeve shows no real damage.  There are no marks or writing on the labels or the sleeve, and there are no seam splits on the outer or inner sleeves.  Once again, there is a little wear that one would expect from a 42-year old record.  There is slight ring wear on the sleeves, likely due to storage.  There is some shelf wear to the bottom seam of the outer cover, and the corners are a little worn.  Again, this is to be expected for an album of this age that was listened to and not simply filed away. Due to restrictions on the number of pictures eBay allows for listings, I haven't been able to upload close-up shots of the sleeve wear menttioned above.  If you would like me to send you some more pictures, please let me know.
Please note, I tend to grade conservatively, and my ratings are to denote general wear, not damage or flaws.  This is a fine example of a great album.
