THIS IS A RARE TRUE 1967 1ST EDITION in STEREO of Sgt. Peppers, SMAS 2653, one of the EARLIEST US pressings, pressed in LOS ANGELES as indicated by the * in the dead wax(See last photo). Beatles albums were often pressed first in Los Angeles since Capitol's HQ was there.
This copy has NO NEMS or MACLEN on the back cover. Original dust sleeve that is in VG+ condition, it is split/torn to the center of record, on the top edge.
It has the LABEL and COVER ERROR (later corrected on the label, but not the cover) that lists "With A Little Help From My Friends" only as "A Little Help From My Friends".
Album title is split by two lines, and STEREO text is tall and thin.
"MFD by Capitol Records Inc... text begins at 8 o'clock position.
A1: Sgt. Pepper's... is listed ABOVE spindle hole.
Song titles differences on label (later corrected): A7 Being for The Benefit of Mr. Kite; B4 Good Morning Good Morning; B5 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - Reprise.
