There are songs and there are albums that win you over with overwhelming simplicity. They automatically activate the spring of emotions and invite you to dance and sing ... in short, to be happy for at least a few minutes. This is the case of the single that we are pleased to present to you. The 26th Madmua Records release stars Colombian singer Henry Nelson and contains two authentic Latin soul bombshells that ooze energy and rhythm to the sound of incendiary winds and contagious melodies. Pure gasoline for the dance floor.

As is usual in our titles, in addition to the musical factor, there is also an interesting story behind the songs. Both were recorded at the end of 1969 at the Regson studios in Madrid with the Argentine Willy Rubio as pianist and arranger and with Sandra Le Brocq in the backing vocals. Henry Nelson had landed a few months earlier in Spain in search of a happy career. However, these songs were discarded by the record labels to which they were presented and here ended the European dream of their composer and interpreter. When the songs threatened to end up being definitely forgotten in a drawer, it was released in Argentina in single format. With the help of Daniel Etcheverri, supreme pontiff of the Argentine underground of the moment, they carried out the project in 1970 under the name of Santamarina on the Groove label, a subsidiary of RCA used to launch unofficial editions. This change in the name, not to be confused with the homonymous group of Córdoba (Argentina), was due to commercial reasons, since Henry moved in other types of records. At the same time, it was also released in Mexico, where an epé with the four songs and a single was released on the small Panamusic label. At the same time, a single was released in Mexico in Musrat with adaptations in a more Latin line of the themes 'El amor es un bicho' and 'El diablo' by Los Martinicos, a group produced by Henry and who later accompanied him on various tours.

51 years after its recording, it is a pride to publish these powerful hits for the first time in our country. Serve as a vindication of the author of him, who enjoyed a very successful career in Latin America but who has always accompanied the thorn in his Spanish foray. Although delayed, we hope that this launch contributes to illuminate the figure of him.

Como es habitual en nuestros títulos, además del factor musical, también habita una interesante historia tras las canciones. Este cambio en el nombre, no confundir con el grupo de homónimo de Córdoba (Argentina), obedeció a motivos comerciales, ya que Henry se movía en otro tipo de registros. Paralelamente, fue editado también en México, donde vio la luz un epé con los cuatro temas y un single en el pequeño sello Panamusic. Al mismo tiempo, fue editado un single en México en Musrat con adaptaciones en una línea más latin de los temas ‘El amor es un bicho’ y ‘El diablo’ a cargo de Los Martinicos, grupo que producía Henry y que le acompañó posteriormente en varias giras.

51 años después de su grabación, es un orgullo publicar por primera vez en nuestro país estos hits tan potentes. Sirva como reivindicación de su autor, quien disfrutó de una trayectoria muy exitosa en Latinoamérica pero al que siempre ha acompañado la espinita clavada de su incursión española. Aunque con retraso, esperamos que este lanzamiento contribuya a alumbrar su figura.
