The final form of Mwandishi Music, a sound in the helping phase of the jump to the next.

Recorded in San Francisco, 1972.
Performed by Herbie Hancock's band, Mwandishi.
This band was formed in 1970.
formed in 1970. All members had Swahili names and took them, and Herbie's Swahili name
became the band's name. The band became very conscious of their African ethnic origins, making a clear distinction from
the existing white community in the U.S.

a picture painted with a galactic cosmic palette of novel emotions, shapes, and colors.
The electrification of jazz began in 1968 with Miles, and Herbie was there. The electrification of Miles'

and developed their own music. This was the case with Tony Williams' "Lifetime" and John McLaughlin's "Mahavishnu Orchestra.
Mahavishnu Orchestra, Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul's Weather Report, Chick Corey's
Report" by Wayne Shorter and Joe Zabinul, and "Circle" and "Return to Forever" by Chick Corea.
Each had a strong jazz-rock color, a strong free spirit, and a tropical paradise orientation.
Herbie Hancock and Mwandisi inherited Miles' spellbinding original sound.
Mwandisi was the inheritor of Miles's unique sound.
Mwandisi released three avant-garde albums for Warner, and after moving to Columbia
Sextant" was a straightforward arrangement of that music. But the whole album was three songs.
It is still in the chaotic sound of the Miles style. Still, it has the same heavy, morbid, contemporary musicality that electrified Miles's music had.
It doesn't have the morbid modern musicality or sense of urgent mission, and it is easy to listen to in a good way.
These albums are too singular in Hancock's discography to be in the realm of the troughs.
It's a bit of a valley, but it's an important valley. Even so, their significance is important and their presence is significant.
Herbie, in his musical autobiography
Herbie devotes about three chapters (more than 50 pages) to these topics in detail. Reading this, you can get an idea of
what he wasand what he was doing at that time. The musical transition from Mwandishi to the Head
Hunters, and also the story of his record company transfer.
If he had continued on this path for a while longer, it might have become somewhat established, both among listeners and
in the history of jazz.
The following year, however, the catchy and well-organized hit "Head Hunters" would come out.
The following year, however, the catchy and well-organized hit "Head Hunters" came out, and this chaotic electrified line
came to an end here.
