The Early Beatles" is an album edited by Capitol Records in the United States.
It was released after the Beatles' contract with VeeJay Records expired and the songs from Introducing... The Beatles" was released after the Beatles' contract with VeeJay Records expired and the songs from "Introducing... The Beatles" became available for release on Capitol Records.
The album contains 11 songs from "Please Please Me," excluding "I Saw Her Standing There," "Missouri," and "There's A Place," in an arbitrarily changed order. In addition, "Introducing... The Beatles" as well as "Thank You Girl" and "From Me to You," which were released on Vee-Jay Record, were not included.
It reached a high of #43 on Billboard magazine's Top LPs chart, selling over one million copies, a feat not achieved until more than a decade after its release. The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America on January 8, 1974, and platinum on January 10, 1997.
