THE BEATLES WHITE ALBUM 1968 Embossed and Numbered Cover - READ:
I am not an expert on White Album pressings, but from my research, I believe this is a 1968 cover from Jacksonville from the US, as denoted by the dot followed by numbers. So, the album cover is an original from 1968 (I believe). However, the vinyl and and inserts might be from a different year. It seems (to me) that someone replaced the original contents with "newer" items, as in early 70s. Compared to most White Albums from 1968, this one is in superior shape.
Several reissues (like the purple Capitol Records 1978) have perforated photos that are attached. The original 1968 pressings, to my knowledge, do not. They are thicker, glossy, individualized portraits. It seems like those were replaced with this version, although still intact; never taken apart. The poster and pictures are in excellent condition.
The vinyl, based on my research, might actually be a 1971 pressing (after looking on Discogs) instead of pressings from 1968. Then again, I might be wrong. Feel free to look at my item, ask questions, research on your own if you want to (as much as you can) be 100% informed on what you are receiving.
The vinyl is in fabulous condition and sounds great. Clear audio; perhaps a couple of staticky minor crackles between songs, but nothing obnoxious whatsoever.
If you buy this album because of the original, great-shape cover and audio, then this is a good purchase.
I want to be very clear on my item. It's either a 1968 US original or the cover is, but the contents are from the early 70s.
Record will be in a resealable, dual pocket sleeve. Records will be in a sleeve with a cardboard divider, which is how I stored both items.
Great cover. Great sounding record.
