DISC

GRADE

CHART:

NM (NEAR MINT) with at the most a couple light faint fine shallow hairs on both sides. Almost all of original luster remains, labels are mostly clean. There will be some very very light (minimal) background noise occasionally during playback, if any at all! Clean bold audio. I hardly ever had this grade out, unless record truly deserves it. Seriously only 3% or less of all vintage vinyl ever produced is still this clean!

EX(VG++) with just a few light faint fine shallow hairs on both sides, possibly some paper scuffs, some minimal groove wear from play. Most of the luster remains, labels are mostly clean. There will be some very light background noise occasionally during playback with mostly clean bold audio. Any background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes. Very very respectable copy!

VG+ with several light faint fine shallow hairs on both sides (could be longer or thicker hairs or scratches, audio quality is most important), some moderate groove wear from play. Some of the luster remains, labels are mostly clean. There will be some very light (to moderate) background noise occasionally during playback with bold audio. Majority of background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes. Respectable copy!

VG =  with many numerous light faint fine shallow hairline scratches on both sides (could be larger or thicker hairs or scratches, audio quality is most important), some moderate to heavy groove wear from repeat play. Labels are mostly clean, could have writing or peel off. There will be some constant light background noise throughout playback with mostly bold clean audio. Some occasional faint crackles, and possibly a few audible "ticks's" or Clicks. No background noise overpowers music, still a respectable players copy! Majority of background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes, still some will be heard during music.

VG-/G+ = with many many numerous light faint fine shallow hairs on both sides, some abusive needle drags and larger more pronounced scratches. Some heavy groove wear possible from repeat play. Labels are worn to slightly clean, could have writing or peel off, most will not have either. There will be some constant louder static background noise throughout playback with bold audio. Faint crackles, and a few to several audible "pop"s throughout, still has bold sound. Not terribly overpowering of music. Still a very respectable players copy! Majority of background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes, still some will be heard during music.

GOOD = with many many numerous light faint fine shallow hairs on both sides, some very abusive needle drags and even larger more pronounced scratches. Some very heavy groove wear from repeat play. Some to NO luster remains, labels are worn or slightly clean, could have writing or peel off. There will be some constant louder static background noise throughout playback with bold audio. Louder crackles, and "pop"s throughout, still has bold sound. Not terribly overpowering of music, but definitely audible and slightly distracting. Great entry level copies of rare or original press records. Majority of background noise will be heard during quiet passes, in between tracks, and on intro and dead waxes, still some will be heard during music.

CHART:

NM (NEAR MINT) with NO to light fade and NO ring wear. No evidence of creases or light scrape marks around cover art from handling. NO corner bends. All spines are crisp and intact with NO shelf wear fray, title spine perfectly clean and legible with NO fray patches and wear. I hardly ever hand this grade out, reserved for any vintage vinyl cover that is still in almost perfect shape!

EX(VG++) with minimal fade or ring wear. Some very light creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, some very minor corner bends. All spines are mostly 100% intact with minimal shelf wear fray, title spine mostly clean and legible with none to very minor, fray patches and wear.

VG+ with light fade and light to moderate ring wear. Some creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, some minor corner bends. All spines are mostly 100% intact with no, to very minimal, shelf wear fray, title spine mostly legible with no, to very minimal, fray patches and wear. To me the most important aspect of a VG+ grade is the appearance of the artwork. Spines may have some small issues.

VG =  with light to moderate fade and moderate ring wear. Some to many creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, some corner bends. All spines are mostly 90% of better intact with shelf wear fray, title spine mostly legible with some to moderate fray patches and wear. Some variance of these conditions, see individual listings. Could have writing on cover. On rare occasion a seem split with an immaculately glossy and clean cover can have this grade.

VG-/G+ = with moderate fade and moderate ring wear. Many creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, some corner bends. All spines are 75% or more partially intact with shelf wear fray, title spine barely legible, or not at all, with some fray patches and wear. Some variance of these conditions, see individual listings. Could have writing on cover. ** Most of my grades in this category are for heavy splits to edges, usually less than 90% of spines are intact. In this case most are taped back together.

GOOD = with moderate to heavy fade and/or ring wear. Many numerous creases and light scrape marks around cover art from handling, some corner bends/creases. All spines are partially intact with shelf wear fray, title spine barely legible, or not at all, with some fray patches and wear. Some variance of these conditions, see individual listings. Could have writing on cover, or stains ** Most of my grades in this category are for heavy splits to edges, usually less than 50% of spines are intact. In this case most are taped back together. Cover was almost two separate pieces of cardboard.
