Review from another site: Known for their raw brand of rockin' blues and R&B, Australia's the Teskey Brothers first garnered attention with their live performances in the late 2000s. Formed in Melbourne in 2008, the Teskey Brothers feature singer/guitarist Josh Teskey and his brother, lead guitarist Sam Teskey, as well as bassist Brendon Love and drummer Liam Gough. They all grew up together living just outside of Melbourne and bonded over their shared love of artists like Peter Green, the Animals, Percy Sledge, and others. Initially, it was siblings Josh and Sam who started the band, busking on the street as teenagers. Later, they joined forces with Love and Gough and built a following with a string of pub gigs, playing a mix of gritty rock, blues, and R&B. They also gained valuable experience working as the backing group for singer Ella Thompson. The band eventually signed with Glassnote Records and in 2017 issued their debut album, Half Mile Harvest. A breakthrough for group, it reached number 18 on Australia's ARIA chart. In 2019, the Teskey Brothers returned with their sophomore long-player, Run Home Slow. Buoyed by the singles "Hold Me" and "So Caught Up," it peaked at number two in Australia and took home three ARIA Music Awards, including Best Blues and Roots Album.
