Rarities Vol. 2" (English: Rarities) is the best album by the Beatles, released on May 5, 1980.

It has not been released on CD to date. The album reached #21 on Billboard and #20 on Cashbox for

two consecutive weeks, and has sold over one million copies in the United States alone.

On this album, the title "Sargent Pepper Inner Groove" was credited for the first time to Noise and

Conversation, which was recorded at the end of the British and Japanese releases of "Sgt. Pepper's

Lonely Hearts Club Band".

This is the japanese version.

The familiar songs are arranged differently, and you can enjoy another charm of the Beatles.

I think this is a must-listen album.

Rarities/The Beatles Description About This Items Edited by Capitol in the US. Since the original title is the same as the British edited version "Rarities", the Japanese title was changed to "Rarities Vol.2" for the sake of convenience.

The songs and versions included on this album are those that were not included on the singles and albums released by Capitol Records, and are rare songs and versions that American fans have not had a chance to hear.

See Loves You (German)," "I'm Only Sleeping," "The Inner Light," "Across the Universe," "You Know My Name," and "Sargent Pepper Inner Groove"). However, "Love Me Do," recorded on September 4, 1962, which saw the light of
day for the first time in 17 years, with Ringo Starr on drums (even in the UK, the version with Andy White on
drums became the norm after the reissue singles in the mid-1960s), and the West German version of "Something
It isnoteworthy that the album literally includes rare take versions of songs such as "And I Love Her," which was
included on the West German version of "Something New.

Also included are versions newly edited and produced by Capitol Records for this album ("I Am the Walrus" and
"Penny Lane").

Also included are the original mono versions of "Help!" and "Don't Pass Me," which were rare at the time when
stereo was the mainstream. (The Beatles' mono version of "The Beatles" was not released in the U.S.).

This album brought the original monaural Beatles recordings to the attention of the public.

While the order of the songs on the British-edited version of "Rarities" was arbitrary, the songs on this album are
recorded in the order of their release except for "Sgt. Pepper Inner Groove" (although "Helter Skelter" and "Don't
Pass Me By" are recorded in the reverse order).

The cover is an unusual spread for a single LP, and the inside is a photo of the Butcher cover (LP "Yesterday and Today"), which was released in the U.S. in 1966 and immediately recalled (basically the same photo as Yesterday
and Today, but before it was cropped). (Basically the same photo as Yesterdays and Today, but before it was
cropped, so you can see the band members below their knees).

Edit

1.Love Me Do - Love Me Do (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (2'25"), Lead Vocals: Paul McCartney
Mono, take recorded September 4, 1962. Session drummer Andy White did not participate in the
recording.
It was only included on the UK debut single release. Since the master tape had been disposed of, the
released single version is used as the source.

2.Misery - Misery (McCartney - Lennon)

Duration: (1'47"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon, Paul McCartney
Same as on the stereo version of the original UK album "Please Please Me". In the U.S., it was released on Vee Jay's "Introducing... The Beatles" in the U.S., but not on the Capitol release "The Early Beatles".

3.There's a Place (McCartney - Lennon)

Duration: (1'49"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon
This is the same as the original UK album "Please Please Me" in stereo. In the U.S., it was released on
Vee Jay's "Introducing... The Beatles" in the U.S., but not on the Capitol release "The Early Beatles".

4.See Loves You (German) - Sie Liebt Dich (Lennon - McCartney - Nicolas - Montague)

Duration: (2'18"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon, Paul McCartney
This is the same as the one recorded on the British edited version of "Rarities". This is the first stereo
release in the U.S.

5.And I Love Her - And I Love Her (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (2'37"), Lead Vocals: Paul McCartney
This version was included in the West German version of "Something New". The repetition of the ending
is long.

6.Help! - Help! (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (2'21"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon
Original mono version. Originally, the vocals and performance were completely different between the
mono and stereo takes, but in the U.S., both the single and album recordings were simply the stereo
version dropped to mono, which is why it is included on this disc.

7.I'm Only Sleeping (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (3'01"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon
Same as the original UK album "Revolver" in stereo. (The Japanese version of "Yesterday and Today" has the same song order as the U.S. Capitol version, but the sound source is the same as the U.K. version.)

8.I Am the Walrus (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (4'36"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon
This is an edited version of the song from the stereo version of the original UK 2-CD EP "Magical Mystery Tour", combined with part of the interlude from the B-side version of the U.S. Capitol single "Hello
Goodbye".
The U.S. Capitol version of "I Am the Walrus" in stereo on "Magical Mystery Tour" has four beats at the
beginning, while the original U.K. EP has six beats. The B-side version on the U.S. single version of "Hello
Goodbye" has a few seconds longer interlude. The B-side version of the U.S. single "Hello Goodbye" is a
few seconds longer than the B-side version of the U.S. single "Hello Goodbye".

1.Penny Lane - Penny Lane (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (3'03"), Lead Vocals: Paul McCartney.
Trumpet is added at the ending. The ending of the version on the U.S. promotional single was added to
the regular stereo version.
This was the first stereo release of "Penny Lane" in the U.S. The U.S. Capitol release "Magical Mystery
Tour" included a pseudo-stereo version, and the U.S. Capitol release "The Beatles 1967 - 1970" included a mono version.

2.Helter Skelter (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (3'39"), Lead Vocals: Paul McCartney
Original mono version. This is the first monaural release of "The Beatles" in the US. The commentary on
the back of the jacket makes the fatal mistake of stating that "you can't hear John Lennon's voice
screaming 'I've got blisters on my fingers' after the fade-in again" (it is actually Ringo Starr shouting this).

3.Don't Pass Me by (Starkey)

Duration: (3'45"), Lead Vocals: Ringo Starr
Original mono version. This is the first mono release of "The Beatles" in the U.S.

4.The Inner Light (Harrison)

Duration: (2'35"), Lead Vocals: George Harrison
First album recording in the US. Original mono mix.

5.Across the Universe (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (3'47"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon
First release in the United States. This version was included on the album "No Ones Gonna Change Our
World".

6.You Know My Name (Look up the Number) (Lennon - McCartney)

Duration: (4'19"), Lead Vocals: John Lennon, Paul McCartney
First album recording in the U.S. Credited as You Know My Name (Look up My Number).

7.Sargent Pepper Inner Groove

Duration: (0'02")
First release in the US. It was cut on the U.S. release of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band".

Appearance Jacket has a few stains but is in good condition. Condition The record has some light scratches, not excellent but to Very Good.
Of course there are no scratch sounds and no problems with playback.
