This systemis used by dealers & collectors worldwide including me 1. MINT: The record itself is in brand newcondition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The coverand any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfectcondition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be mint... 2. EXCELLENT: The record shows some sign ofhaving been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. Thecover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing... 3. VERY GOOD: The record has obviously beenplayed many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality,despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wearand tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable` 4. Good : The record has beenplayed so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps withsome distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding,scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc 5. Fair The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properlyand displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover andcontents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. 6 .Poor: The record will not playproperly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents willbe badly damaged or partly missing 7 Bad The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler
