"Philadelphia Orchestra" radio show transcription discs issued by The Armed Forces Radio Service.  47 minutes of a 60 minute radio broadcast on these two 16 inch, vinyl, 33 1/3 rpm discs.  These discs were issued to radio stations for broadcast only and not available to the general public, very rare!

Please note these discs contain 47:15 minutes of a 60 minute radio broadcast.  These discs contain parts 1, 2, 3 & 4 of 5 parts.

"Philadelphia Orchestra" radio program #34 from March 24, 1945 featuring the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra performing from The Academy Of Music in Philadelphia and conducted by Eugene Ormandy with solo vocalist Rosalind Nadell

In a program of music by Russian Composers, Music includes:

1. "Prelude To Khovanshchina" by Modest Mussorgsky (complete)

2. "3 Russian Folk Songs: The Religious Song, The Christmas Song, The Dance Song" by Anatoly Liadov (complete)

3. "Fireworks" by Igor Stravinsky (complete)

4. "Cantata For Alexander Nevsky" by Sergei Prokofiev with solo vocalist Rosalind Nadell..   *this last selection takes up the last 32 minutes of these discs and sounds complete - down to the last note which sounds similar to examples of performances I found on Youtube - however the timing may be a bit short, so I can't say for certain this last selection is complete

Discs are in Excellent+ condition with Excellent+ sound, beautiful discs!  Both discs are in one sleeve separated by a paper divider

Please note that 16 inch transcription discs will not play on most standard turntables due to their size.  I can make a CD copy of the discs for the buyer only for $10
