This is a set of LPs that represented the biggest change in John Mellencamp’s evolution from frustrated art-rocker to low level pop star to heartland rocker and singer-songwriter.  These were the first albums to reintroduce the name Mellencamp and qualify the manager imposed “Cougar” (it also got rid of the “Johnny” that DJs still used from the mid 1970s).  This set includes: 1983’s Uh-huh with one of the best Side One’s of the 1980s (Cumblin’ Down, Pink Houses, Authority Song) - VG-VG+ 1985’s Masterwork - hands down his opus with the band and George Green - Scarecrow - too many great songs to name and the impetus for Farm Aid - this is a 2016 pressing on 180 gram heavy vinyl - played once; Excellent-NM 1987’s The Lonesome Jubilee - a monster hit that broke JM open to the mainstream and introduced Crystal Talifero to the world.  This is VG+ to Excellent; 1989’s Big Daddy - great songs and gaining in introspection with hit Jackie Brown.  Unfortunately, the original dust jacket/liner notes is not included and is in a generic dust jacket.  Still in VG+ to Excellent condition All record jackets are in VG-NM condition. These albums spotlight JM best band from the 1980s (pictured) along with the awesome talents of Lisa Germano and Crystal Talifero.  Their inclusion re-introduced America to the violin and “fiddle playing”, which heightened the power of these songs.
This is a great set!
