As a sequel to our 'Forward with the Derry' record album we present another 'True Blues' selection of music designed to set loyal feet tapping. Those who have marched to Edenderry will appreciate the need for this sound which makes one forget the long miles and lets the world know that the spirit of 1690 is still with, us.

Here in Lanarkshire we too had our men of steel, in those years of Derry, Aughrim and the Boyne, whose forefathers played a great part in the Plantation of Ulster. These Covenanters met at Douglas and raised a regiment in one day without 'the tap o' a drum' or the enticement of the 'King's Shilling'. This regiment was to be called later, after the martyred Richard Cameron - The Lion of the Covenant, The Cameronians. The cover of this record carries the badge of the Cameronians, regrettably now disbanded, which is so dear to the many ex-riflemen in the band and is so representative of Scotland's Brave Heritage.

On another occasion, this time less dramatic, the need produced the men. The local lodges were left without music for The Twelfth Walk' and with the support of many dedicated brothers and sisters the band was formed. This action was not just the formation of another band but the foundation on which the whole Craigneuk Orange Community flourishes.

Parades in Ulster are commonplace to today's bandsmen. Some will never forget the band's first march on the Shankill. The warmth, and sincerity, of the people of the Shankill is a privilege we are proud to have experienced.
