NM - Sleeve and Record are almost as new . Light wear possible . EX - Excellent cover may have light wear , light handling . Record may have light marks . Light noise . VG - Cover will have noticeable handling wear , creases , light wear and tear . Record will show play , possibly scratches . Still plays through fine .
ALWAYS WASH JAPAN DIRECT RECORDS . MILDEW IS USUALLY SURFACE NOISE SOURCE . One can't see it but it's there . Just like Windex or Discwasher . One gets a crackle effect . But the record looks clean , quite often.
When buying records . Just look at the label for spindle marks . Expensive record cleaning machines work nice records that need to be CLEANED . They do not remove groove damage over poor playback abuse . A really clean record . May look it . After cleaning . But will still have that hideous surface noise .
