ANGIE STONE is a triple Grammy Nominee and has sold over 5 million records worldwide! She entered the music business, as Angie B, in the late seventies forming the first female rap group, The Sequence, and signing to Sylvia Robinson’s Sugarhill label alongside The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash and Funky Four Plus One. She went on to marry Lil’ Rodney (Stone), from Funky Four Plus One, and has a daughter by him called Diamond. In the late nineties Stone signed to Clive Davis’ J Records and here we showcase her most successful solo single, “Wish I Didn’t Miss You” featuring a sample of the O’Jay’s 1972 iconic hit “Backstabbers”.
