MASAYOSHI TAKANAKA Rainbow Goblins Story: Live At Budokan (1986) Amherst AMH 3307 PROMO
Glossy, with a few superficial, inaudible marks; both sides play strong, without surface noise. Labels are clean. Sleeve is in nice shape; light edge/corner-wear; free of splits. Gold promo stamp back of sleeve.
Play-graded: VG+
Sleeve: Strong VG
RECORD GRADING STANDARDS:
All records are play-graded (unless otherwise noted) using Goldmine grading standards, with the exception of my use of Excellent on eBay to designate vinyl that would be NM but for a single flaw (examples include a single paper scuff seen under bright light or some wear to label near a spindle-hole). You can be assured that anything I label EX is NM in the eyes of many, and it obviously plays with zero noise.
Near Mint (NM)
Very glossy with no visible defects. No writing, stickers or other markings on the label, no spindle marks. Absolutely no surface noise. NM covers are free of creases, ring wear and seam splits of any kind.
Very Good Plus (VG+) / Excellent (EX)
The record will show some slight signs of wear, including light scuffs or very light scratches that do not affect the listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Minor signs of handling are OK, too, such as telltale marks around the center hole, but repeated playing has not misshapen the hole. There may be some very light ring wear or discoloration, but it should be barely noticeable. An especially strong/close to NM record but for a scuff will be graded E.
Covers have minor wear. May have some very minor seam wear or < 1/2-inch split. May have a cut-out marking (which will be noted in listing).
Very Good (VG):
Lacks most of the original gloss found on factory-fresh records. Groove wear is evident on sight, as are light scratches deep enough to feel with a fingernail. There is surface noise, and some scratches may be audible, especially in soft passages and during a song's intro and ending. But the noise does not overpower the music. No skips.
Covers will have many signs of handling. Ring wear/edge wear is obvious, though not overwhelming. Some more creases may be visible. Seam splitting will be more obvious; it may appear on all three sides (which will be noted in listing), Writing, stamps, or stickers may be on it too.
Very Good Minus (VG-) / Good Plus (G+):
Record plays through without skipping. Significant surface noise and groove wear, and the label is worn, with significant ring wear, heavy writing, or damage caused by removed tape or stickers.
Covers have heavy ring wear, obvious seam splits, heavier writing written across the sleeve, damage from removed stickers, etc.
