I had a pretty limited exposure to diverse music in the 70s. We had one AOR, Album Oriented Rock, radio station in our area. I knew and loved all the big names in rock. The Flamin' Groovies were a very busy and popular band in the 70s but I missed them, didn't know who they were. I probably would have never heard of them if they hadn't been persistent enough to reform and record a new album thirty odd years beyond their heyday. I'm really glad they did. It is a great album that would easily fit into the 70s during the glory days of rock. I immediately recognized the cover art as a callback to that decade. The artist was a very popular one for MAD magazine. I didn't miss MAD. I subscribed throughout that time period.
