Artist/Release Notes: Not to be confused with 60's/70's blue/rock session guitarist Jesse Ed Davis, this is the Jesse Davis whose highly coveted 1960's northern soul 45 RPM record "Gonna Hang On In There Girl" sells for hundreds (and often over $1,000). What we have here is a latter-day Davis' record from 1983 on the private imprint Essence Records out of San Diego, California. We're aware of only one other LP on the label, Davis' equally rare "Just Jesse" album. On this record, "The Man From Camp Nine," Davis is joined by co-vocalist Peggy Minafee. The two have signed the back of the jacket with the inscription "To Mag" (or "To May"?).
