Eels are a great live band - not for their production values and histrionics, but rather the fact that no two tours are ever the same.

Following their excellent Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett LP, 2014 saw the group embark on an ambitious 53-date world tour, with shows often stripped back in accordance with the new album’s palette.

Recorded on 30 June, the band’s appearance at London’s iconic Royal Albert Hall was perhaps the centerpiece of the trek, and saw them turn in a stunning mix of old and new.

Fresh additions such as Where I’m At, Lockdown Hurricane and Mistakes of My Youth, for instance, are dazzling, and slot in seamlessly among classics like My Beloved Monster, Last Stop: This Town and Fresh Feeling - many arranged as you’ve never heard them before.
