Cited as a key influence behind sludge, stoner, doom and a whole clutch of other subgenres, it’s an album dominated by dense, plodding behemoths, with Tony Iommi bashing out iconic, plodding riffs at a rate that's scarcely fathomable even four decades on.
If Sweet Leaf, After Forever, Children of the Grave, Lord of This World and Into the Void don’t stir something primal, you might want to check your pulse!
A stone wall classic, and an essential for anyone with even a passing interest in metal.
