Released in 2012, Carolus Rex was the sixth album from Swedish power metal merchants Sabaton.
One of the group’s most popular records to date, its unveiling was met with fanfare, from both fans and critics, with the former ensuring it achieved gold status in Poland and platinum in their homeland.
In many ways it also marked the end of an era, with guitarists Oskar Montelius and Rikard Sundén, drummer Daniel Mullback and keyboardist Daniel Mÿhr all departing shortly afterwards.
