GRADING THIS RECORD

:

Jacket/cover visual assessment: The jacket is flat with reasonably squared corners and retains most of the luster on the front cover. There is noticeable wear on the covers, including a light brown stain from a fluid (tea? coffee?) in the lower left corner of the front cover and lower right on the back.

Bonus photos grade: EX.

Bonus poster grade: VG+.

Record visual grade: The four sides vary from VG to VG+, but they have been played and there are paper scuffs and small scratches.

My name is Neal Umphred. For those eBayers who are unfamiliar with my name, I am the author of the original line of Goldmine price guides for record collectors, which were published way back in the 20th century. I have also been selling collectable records in the mail for more than thirty years, starting in Goldmine magazine where I advertised as Pet Sounds Records.

In the late 1980s, I teamed up with Goldmine magazine and created a series of price guides for record collectors. These books made vast, fundamental changes in several aspects of the hobby—notably the values assigned both common and rare records, and in how those records were graded. My three titles were Goldmine's Price Guide To Collectible Record Albums, Goldmine's Price Guide To Collectible Jazz Albums, and Goldmine's Rock 'n Roll 45RPM Price Guide.

MY BLOGS:

Right now I am writing and running several blogs—as none of them are commercial sites, none of them compete in any way with eBay. I currently have sites: Neal Umphred Dot Com addresses anything that I want to write about, from anecdotes to book and movies reviews to jokes to politics and current vents. Elvis – A Touch Of Gold addresses collecting records and memorabilia by Mr. Presley. 1st Class International Mail is VERY SLOW and there is uåsually no tracking. Some items can take three weeks or more to arrive, frequently due to delays by your local Customs or Tax Office. Tracking is available with more expensive services like Express Mail.
