First Neil Young solo album with no name on the cover.
After researching this album I have found out that I have a mispressing.
According to the deadwax info side one has the "RE-1" in it which means this is the remaster.
However side 2 does not so it is the original mix. You can hear the
differences. (I have a later pressing of the reissue to compare).
This LP features the W7 two tone label.
For those of you who don't know this album was originally issued in 1968 with a new Haeco-CSG process and Neil Young was
not happy with the result so the album was recalled.
The album was remastered and reissued in 1969 and there are subtle differences in the mixes as well.
I have another copy of the 1969 reissue for listening comparison.
Since I have owned it this album has been played maybe 5 times (I recorded it to cassette when i first got it).
I have only played it on a Thorens turntable with a Grace tonearm and it's always been handled with care.
Listening report: Just listened to both versions of LP back to back.
It is amazing to me how quiet this LP plays (almost no surface noise at all).
Now here's the surprise. Side 1 is definitely the RE-1 remaster however
It sounds much much better than the later repressing I have.
So much more fidelity in this mispress LP!
It may be because it is a very early pressing.
Still amazed at the excellent condition of this vinyl. I'd say it's NM-
