Transatlantic are a progressive-rock super-group featuring Mike Portnoy (ex-Dream Theater), Neal Morse (ex-Spock’s Beard), Pete Trewavas (Marillion) and Roine Stolt (The Flower Kings, Steve Hackett Band). Released in 2000, SMPTe is the band’s debut studio album. Its name is a play on words: it's both a combination of the band members' initials and a reference about SMPTE, a type of timecode used in recording technology.
