With You In My Arms LP - JOHN MICHAEL ROCH (no label, IG 1001)
Original 1976 U.S. stereo LP. Here's a very 'late bloomer' in the private press collectible world. Not even 'discovered' until well into the 21st century, this very good pop-psych full length from California has been compared to the Michael Angelo LP from here in my hometown. It does have some stylistic similarities, but 'With You In My Arms' forsakes the mystical angle of Michael Angelo for a more direct approach, both musically & lyrically. Check it out on youtube if you're not familiar with it, it's quite cool. This original is almost never seen & it's very rarely offered to the public - last time it was put up for auction was 2015, around the time it was reissued by Subliminal Sounds. According to ROCH himself, there were only 100 copies pressed, given away to family and friends at the time. Today, there are reportedly less than 10 copies known to exist, from what I understand. My limited research indicates it has only changed hands (on the www) a couple of times. So here's an uncommon opportunity for you to pick up a nice copy of one of the hardest-to-obtain private pressings from the '70s...
Disc = EX- (somewhat glossy - some lite hairlines + a few thin, soft scuff marks, NOT AFFECTING PLAY; downgraded due to 2 tiny marks near beginning of track 1 on side 2 that causes lite background pops for approx 6 revolutions; remainder of disc plays GREAT, w/ almost NO background noise; would grade EX w/o the abovementioned flaw; a VERY, VERY SATISFYING listen, definitely)
Cover = see pix; some ring/general wear; small wear in corners; small, thin diagonal crack in front bottom right corner; small cracking + tiny chip + 1" (2.5 cm) seam split in right corner of top seam; several very tiny chips + much cracking in bottom seam (NO seam split, however); very slight wear on spine; a VERY DECENT looking cover; any questions?, please ask
Labels = see pix; A-OK, w/ lite spindle marks by center hole, some of which extend a ways out onto the label; tiny rub mark by center hole on side 2 only
