Initially released in 1972 by RCA, 'The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders From Mars' is David Bowie's crowning achievement, his finest fusion of concept and songs ( "Moonage Daydream," "Suffragette City," "Starman") Driven by exquisite melodies, stellar playing, and Bowie's singular vision, it is one of the finest albums of the '70s.
The copy I am offering was released by Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in June 1981 and is without a doubt, THE BEST version on vinyl ever made ....PERIOD! I've listened to the 1st UK pressing, various Japanese releases and many others......they ALL come up short. Listening to this MFSL pressing, one finds the detail, balance, and fidelity so immediately clear and striking that a second listen is not even neccessary. It's that conclusive. If you are properly set-up, the sonic textures on this album will blow you away.
Lp Jacket: Near Mint-......very nearly perfect with just a little wear to a couple of the corner tips and an inoffensive nick to the spine. Inner protective fold-open sleeve and MFSL "Warranty" mailer is included.
Record: Near Mint-....if not for a few light ticks (7 seconds at the very start ONLY) on the song "Lady Stardust", this record would be graded MINT. A beautiful pressing that easily demonstrates why this is the version to own. MFSL Audiophile rice paper inner-sleeve is included.
