RARE German first pressing of Enrico Mainardi`s interpretation of "J.S. Bach: Cello Solo Suite No. 6" on the Archiv Produktion sublabel of Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft (March 1956).
Johann Sebastian Bach's six cello suites (BWV 1007-1012) are considered to be among the most profound of all classical music works. Bach biographer Wilfrid Mellers described them in 1980 as "Monophonic music wherein a man has created a dance of God."
GRADING:
MINT- COVER in near-perfect condition. Please see photos for details.
- Unlaminated stitched tri-fold sleeve with practically no signs of wear, as shown.
- Small signed name of previous owner on centerfold (at top right).
- Minimal "waviness" along bottom edge, as well as to bottom half of back cover, due to light exposure to moisture.
- Small area on back cover where stitching has come undone (at bottom, center).
MINT- RECORD that looks practically unplayed. A near-impossible find in this condition!
- Near-perfect vinyl on both sides, with impeccable audio reproduction throughout.
- Both sides have a few barely visible, superficial hairlines.
- A bit of light background crackle in between tracks or in some quiet passages.
- Original silver first-pressing Archiv Produktion labels with a few spindle lines on each side.
- The matrix stamps in the run-off grooves read "14061 A - 032 762 WII" and "14061 B - 032 762 WII"
- This record is fully certified to be a German first pressing of "J.S. Bach: Cello Solo Suite No. 6", released in March 1956.
