A huge 39 track CD containing two sessions from John Lennon recorded shortly after his move to New York in 1971. ‘Let's Have a Party (Hotel Syracuse, New York)’ and ‘Clock Soundtrack (St. Regis Hotel, New York)’. Both of these were recorded prior to John and Yoko buying their Dakota Building apartment.

'Let's Have a Party (Hotel Syracuse, New York)’ 9th October 1971.

This is essentially a live recording of John’s 31st birthday party in a luxury suite at the Hotel Syracuse. After the opening of Yoko’s first major exhibition "This is Not Here" a group of musical friends including John, Yoko, Ringo, Eric Clapton, Phil Spector and Klaus Voorman to name a few retired to the Hotel for a private birthday party. What followed is a group famous all star musical legends blind drunk having a sing song at Lennon’s birthday party. Can you imagine being there? Take a listen!

'Clock Soundtrack (St. Regis Hotel, New York)’ 15th September 1971.

Filmed one September afternoon shortly after the Lennons’ arrival in New York during their stay at the St. Regis Hotel, Clock was a simple film and yet another attempt of Yoko’s at treading the same ground as Andy Warhol and his film works like Empire State, which simply presented the famed New York landmark for 24 hours. The soundtrack consists of a John Lennon acoustic set featuring a repertoire of his favourite Rock n Roll oldies, as well as his newly written ode to his new place of residence.

It is a delight to hear these rare sessions from John. ‘Let's Have a Party’ sounds just as you would imagine - a wild night with Lennon and his friends while ‘Clock Soundtrack’ is a simple acoustic set from Lennon and shows his more sentimental side. 

The package included here is one of the finest bootlegs I have seen. As the sessions included here are unreleased it is designed to look like a acetate copy of an album.

The package includes:

• Cover with colour and black and white photographs to the rear.

• Accurate reproduction Emidisc acetate CD label design.

• Booklet on the recording of the two sessions with photographs.
