Presented in this listing is my complete 100 record set of the Franklin Mint's "The Greatest Recordings of the Big Band Era".  Beginning in early 1981 and continuing into 1985 The Franklin Mint released one box containing 2 records of various Big Band recordings approximately at the rate of one two record box set each month.  Each record was an LP made of extra heavy duty, pure virgin ruby red colored vinyl.  According to the Franklin Mint each LP was pressed with this special heavy weight red vinyl which created a very quiet playing surface compared to normal vinyl records.  Also these records were reportedly pressed in an atmospherically controlled clean room, further assuring a quiet playing surface for each LP.
Included in the first box (records 1 and 2) is a letter from the Franklin Mint Vice-President in charge of this project, assuring each subscriber of each LP's quality and his guarantee of the same.  Alo included with the letter was a warning slip to let each record reach room temperature before attempting to play it.  These written documents are shown in photo 2.  
Every 2 record box contains a booklet with information about each band and biological information and photographs of the various artists as well as the music on each LP.  See photographs 3, 4 and 5.
Photographs 6 through 11 show that all 50 2 record boxed sets are included in this collection.  What may appear in these photographs of  the boxes to be wrinkling is really the factory sealed shrink wrap around each.  In fact 40 of the 50 boxes have never been opened and are still factory sealed.  I opened 10 of the boxes (1/2, 3/4, 5/6, 7/8, 9/10, 37/38, 51/52, 59/60, 61/62, and 83/84).  However, I just read the booklets as I was hunting for Clyde McCoy's Sugar Blues recording to play it for a friend.  That is the only LP in the entire set which I have ever played even a part of.  None of the other LPs have ever had a needle placed on them.  
Please note photo 12 which is a picture of of the front of box 83/84.  That cease was on the box when I received it.  It in no way impaired any of the contents of box 83/84.  I found no other defects on any of the other boxes except box 1/2.  The back of the box is somewhat shopworn from having the first 5 or 6 boxes stacked on it and then being moved around my office before I took them home.  The front and sides of this box (photo 1) are in excellent condition.
