This poster comes from the personal collection of Joe Carducci.  Joe was a partner at SST Records in its "heyday" (1981-1986) and he kept copies of most SST products.   He also co-owned Thermidor Records, started while he was at Systematic Record Distribution in Portland and Berkeley (1978-1981), as well as being a partner in Optional Music in the same period. He has also published five well regarded books, including Rock & The Pop Narcotic,    Enter Naomi: SST, L.A. and All That..., and his most recent, Stone Male: Requiem for the Living Picture. Extremely rare German gig poster from 1984.  This is for a one-off gig in Berlin when Black Flag & Husker Du crossed paths in Germany on June 10, 1984, the gig taking place at the Quartier Latin.  Features the My War LP artwork by Raymond Pettibon, but reduced to two colors, the most striking absence being the red on the glove which Joe said Pettibon was never happy with anyway!
These European concert posters are produced in small quantities to begin with and on thin paper to facilitate them being posted/pasted on walls, in the metro ,etc.  It's rare when an example survives in such great shape and this one is basically perfect.  Other than this, I've only seen a picture of this poster and it had printed at the bottom in the white area the location/date of gig - this one is blank.  Obviously any of them that were posted and may have survived would have the gig info on them.
A handful of these were sent to SST by the promoter, and according to Joe  "the poster was a surprise to see at the time.  I think we were generally supplying a standard Pettibon flyer master for European booking people to forward to promoters".  So this was something that even the band/label barely saw......
Poster is on thin paper and is in Near Mint condition.  There is a tiny bump/crease lower left corner and a wee bit more along about 3" of the upper right edge (see pictures), otherwise minimal signs of wear/handling.   Fantastic condition on this rarity and begging to be framed.....  Large format 23" x 33"  Will be shipped rolled.
