Vintage vinyl is back, and very collectible. This very rare 1949 RCA Victor Record/Storybook contains two 78 rpm records (four sides) with Dennis Day narrating the story of Walt Disney's classic 1939 movie, SnowWhite and the Seven Dwarfs. It contains six of the favorite songs featured in the film. The voice of Snow White is performed by Ilene Woods, who voiced the part of Cinderella in that 1950 Disney classic movie. Designed for children, this audiobook includes a 24-page full color storybook. For children who couldn't yet read the printed narration for each page, the device of a dog's bark was the clue to turn to the next page. The dog's name is Nipper (a tribute to the RCA Record logo of a dog listening at the horn of an old record player with the line, “His Master's Voice.”) This Little Nipper Series album number is Y-33.
The records come in a protective sleeve inside its original album cover, which is in good condition for its age, with some nicks on the corners. The album cover has damage to the spine, which has split and been glued back together. The records are in good used condition with some scratches. The 24 page book is complete, but has come loose from the spine. This set belonged to me as a child in the 1950s and was played many, many times.
