Description:
For starters, I think that todays death metal has forgotten the original idea that once was it's driving force: to create the heaviest, darkest and the most morbid kind of music you could imagine. Death metal shouldn't be about competing with speed and technicality. It should be about taking the listener to a world of unfiltered sickness and pain, with the reek of death crawling into your nostrils as you lose your mind. And that, my dear metalheads, is what this album is all about. Immortal Fate existed in the heyday of death metal in the early 90's at the West Coast of USA. They were very influential to many bands, e.g. Autopsy. This is easy to understand when you listen to their music: very fast and chaotic blasting, fuzzy down-tuned guitar and bass topped with ultra-low vocals. Suddenly, the tempo drops very drastically into a totally sluggish doom-part that just craaaaaawls. Pretty much the whole album goes with this pattern. First a blast, then the crawling, then a blast and again some doom. You can't really get a hold of the riffs because the sound is so noisy, so there's nothing really sticking to your head. The beauty of "Beatiful" lies in it's atmosphere. This stuff really blows your mind away. You feel like all the darkness in the world would be poured into your earhole, starting to eat away your brain and finally making you disappear in to the deepest abyss of hell. Immortal Fate is morbid, heavy, dark, sick and everything else you could imagine a death metal album to be. It's a cliche that I say this, but there just isn't enough words to describe this stuff, you gotta hear it by yourself to understand. Memorable songs? Catchy riffs? Choruses? Clear production? None of them. The ultimate in depressing and demented death metal with the sickest sound possible? Oh yes! - Metal Archives
IMMORTAL FATE was the local thrash metal/death metal band when I was in high school, and since PLUTOCRACY members had brothers in the band, we soon became good friends. When bands like PLUTO and EXHUMED started, IMMORTAL FATE was the band we all looked up to. While their earlier stuff was influenced by bands like NUMBSKULL, EPIDEMIC and VIOLENCE, their later stuff was inspired by the emerging grindcore scene of the early 90s. This last recording ends up at the most extreme end of the spectrum for grindcore/death metal. This is completely unpolished, down-tuned grindcore. - Max Ward
