True Blue is a song from American singer Madonna's 3rd album True Blue ('86). It deals with her feelings for then-husband Sean Penn. A dance-pop song, it incorporates a chord progression generally found in doo-wop music & was musically inspired by the '60s Motown girl groups. Received by the critics as a light-hearted & fun retro song, it topped the charts in the UK, Ireland, Canada & became another consecutive top 10 song in the USA for Madonna by reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Ain't No Big Deal, the released version, was produced by Reggie Lucas in '82 & appeared as the B-side of her True Blue single in '86 (though this is an alternate version to the unreleased). It was originally intended to be Madonna's 1st single.
