Sale provides a unique and exceedingly rare opportunity, for beginners and established collectors of rare vinyl alike, to acquire an unplayed copy of the John Mayall album, "Jazz Blues Fusion". Released in 1972, on the Polydor record label, this Stereo Long Play, near mint vinyl record, with original near mint Polydor outer sleeve and liner bag, was acquired by the seller whilst working for the record company; in London during the late 1970's. Forming part disposal of the Company record library and as an unplayed file copy, this album was never played and has never been played since acquisition by the seller. Visually, the playing surface of the record is unblemished, as anyone wishing to finally play this rare LP would soon discover. Having been stored for many years, together with other rare records currently for sale on ebay and now forming part disposal of my own vast library of original 7" and 12" singles, EP's and albums, accumulated over many years, this is a reluctant sale of a truly treasured possession and a one-off opportunity to acquire this must-have addition to any seriously advanced vinyl record collection. Sale provides a golden opportunity for any fans of John Mayall, or indeed, anyone wishing to acquire original jazz blues memorabilia; or just generally interested in the music of the 1970's. The starting price for this auction reflects the condition of the disc and the original Polydor outer sleeve and liner bag, which, other than displaying minimal handling wear to the outer sleeve and liner bag, are in terrific condition. So don't delay, start bidding, as I am confident that this rare and highly collectable album will not last very long. The rarity and condition of this item is reflected in the starting price of the auction.
For the technically minded ebayers amongst us, factory stampings and/or hand etchings on the centre "mirror" area of the disc are as follows: Polydor 2425103 A Side - 2425103 A // 1 inverted pyramid shape 420 - factory stamped during the manufacturing process Polydor 2425103 B Side - 2425103 B // 1 inverted pyramid shape 420 - factory stamped during the manufacturing process As a footnote, the 420 stamping indicates that the record was cut and pressed at the Philips Phonodisc plant (later Polygram) based at Walthamstow, London E4
As part disposal of a vast personal collection of unplayed near-mint records, this auction marks the release of yet another very rare example.
